The Japanese finally decided to build a giant robot...
It's a life size replica of a Gundam robot in a place called O-Daiba (an island of reclaimed land in Tokyo harbour)
It was actually on the BBC website a while back, that's where I first saw it, so I was glad I could see it in the flesh (over metal endo skeleton of course) I can safely say I've never watched an episode of Gundam but you don't get to see this sight everyday and I was mightily impressed.
If they can continue along these lines for Olympics then Tokyo definitely gets my vote.
It also moved and steamed up...
